American Idol is going from four judges back to its three, with one original member remaining for the 2010 edition of the program. American Idol, a reality television competition to find new solo singing talent, debuted on June 11, 2002, as American Idol: The Search for a Superstar on the Fox network.

Cowell’s exit was announced to the public while this year’s 9th season began. One years after, Ellen DeGeneres went public with plans to exit that program, giving reasons including scheduling difficulties and distaste for criticizing the show’s contestants.

According to reports, Jennifer Lopez’s deal to join the judges’ panel in the 10th American Idol audition is done. However, such reports are too rash. American television network Fox has a deal “in principle” with the singer-dancer-actress. However, she has not signed the deal which is expected to be sweetened by her representatives.

On April 10, 2007 Lopez made an appearance as a mentor on American Idol.

The delay of signing aims at waiting to gauge the public’s reaction to the news but incentives. Fox executives ideally wish to present their new judge to the public.

Good news to the audience comes when Jessica Simpson may step into replace Simon Cowell who split after season nine. Pop singer Simpson has met “Idol” brass to discuss the possible participation in the upcoming American audition for several times.

It was reported that Elton John and Justin Timberlake did join the judges’ panel. Therefore, Simpson joins a list which does not have such two stars.

Justin Timberlake has denied he is in line of being a judge on American Idol. He denied that there is any possibility he would consider the role. Justin stars in The Social Network movie which will be appear on the big screen. As for Elton, he also has no plans to do that show.

Rumors flood on reports about the America Idol judges. Nigel Lythgoe, who is noted for being the producer of the shows Pop Idol and American Idol as well as creating, executive producing and being a regular judge for So You Think You Can Dance, is expected to return to the show for the 10th American Idol audition. He’s possibly taking into consideration of some major changes to the remaining judge panel to give the show a boost.

Therefore, the name of Cowell’s replacement would not be unveiled. Among the other names reportedly in contention for the gig are Harry Connick Jr and Chris Isaak.

According to some sources, P Diddy, who has won three Grammy Awards and two MTV Video Music Awards, and his clothing line earned a Council of Fashion Designers of America award, has admitted that he would be up for being an American Idol judge. The rapper also wants American Idol role to take Simon Cowell’s chair on the show, partly because of salary.

After Simon Cowell, Shania Twain and Harry Connick Jr are two among high profile names associated to his role. Ellen DeGeneres has given her announcement of leaving the show. It is likely that Jennifer Lopez will take her place in the upcoming season. American Idol is looking to replace judges.

Simon Cowel’s exit and Ellen DeGeneres’s announcement of her leaving makes some chairs available. Media outlets were reporting that singer Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler will join the panel and judge Kara DioGuardi has been fired.
